Later, Cecil married Martha Jean Starr, and spent many of the early years traveling to  Mississippi and Florida on recovery work cleaning up the aftermath of hurricanes Camille and Fredrick. Upon returning home, they utilized their construction and site preparation skills to develop Gentilly Park on a 52 acre site on Webster Road. Gentilly Park proved to be very popular with Veterinary students beginning in 1971 and eventually reached capacity the following year.
